Remains of the oldest and largest castral enclosure, with a keep, sections of wall, ramparts...
Only the ruins remain of the château built by the Dukes of Bellême, as Sully, Henri IV’s minister, ordered its dismantling in 1610. The oldest remains of this vast castral enclosure are: the Saint-Symphorien priory, with its columned buttresses unique in the Norman world, built around 1100, and the "aula" (large reception hall) dating from the early 12th century. Remains include: the keep, 2 sections of existing walls, the enclosure, ramparts, towers and other fortifications. An orientation table details the panorama.
