PREHISTORY MUSEUM
Museum presenting prehistoric carved flints associated with excavations in the department
In the attic of the Château de Rânes, this small community museum invites you on an exciting journey in the footsteps of Neanderthal man. It exhibits a collection of Paleolithic carved flints (between 150,000 and 40,000 years old) discovered in the 2000s in Saint-Brice-sous-Rânes and around Argentan. A range of educational tools enables you, for example, to view a map of the region's megalithic sites. The museum has been designed with families and schools in mind. Visits can be guided or self-guided, depending on the number of visitors.
