These places are one of the peculiarities of Savananh. 22 original squares perfectly aligned with each other, 24 remain and contribute to creating the unique atmosphere of the city. Missing squares have disappeared as the city transformation. Among them, Calhoun Square is the only one that still retains all its original buildings.
Take a seat in place to soak up the places and observe the notable differences from one location to another. Know that Chippewa square is the Place where the famous movie Forrest Gump was filmed where the naive hero tells his story, sitting on a bench, a box of chocolates on his knees. Do not look for the bench, it is no longer there.

Ville méconnue des US mais très intéressante à visiter. Son quartier victorien, ses nombreux parcs et son allée de bord de fleuve avec ses immeubles en briques rouges. Très joli

Les squares, paisibles, sont vraiment l'un des points forts de cette charmante petite ville côtière. Ne loupez pas le faux Forest Gump qui est aussi passionné que bluffant !

Savannah est une ville étonnante. Calme, discrète, élégante (mais moins que Charleston), on est loin de la vie trépidante des grandes cités américaines. Elle mérite d'être visitée et découverte lentement. Il faut donc y passer au moins trois jours, surtout qu'elle peut servir de base pour visiter les alentours : Tybee island, Savannah national refugee, le musée de l' air force. Bref, outre les squares du centre ville et les belles demeures, Savannah vaut le voyage.
