Georgia's Antebellum Trail is a 100 miles journey (160 km) through seven cities that escaped destruction during the March to the Sea led by General Sherman during the War of Secession. All of these sites have preserved many homes and properties in the Antebellum architecture (in Latin: before the war) and the undeniable charm. From north to south, these cities are Athens, Watkinsville, Madison, Eatonton, Midgeville, Gray/The Old Clinton Historic District and Macon. The US Highway 129, east of Atlanta, is the guide guide for this journey. Please do not hesitate to download the Trail brochure on the website.
