Carolina Beach offers a much more family-friendly beach than Wrightsville beach. In the face of the ocean, the Carolina Beach Boardwalk opened in March 2015 follows the small streets lined with restaurants and the mobile sites set up. The facilities of this lovely boardwalk also include free beach showers. Unlike the city and the ocean, Carolina Beach State Park deserves to be visited for its Flytrap Trail, which can be seen in dionées, relatively rare carnivorous plants (Dionaea muscipula).
