Kure Beach houses the most savage beach of this language of land stretching south to Zeke's Island Reserve through the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. This beach is less pleasant than its counterparts in Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach. Near, Fort Fisher, with its battlefield, and the North Carolina Aquarium of Fort Fisher are two very popular attractions. The ferry terminal for Southport is located shortly after the aquarium.
