The port tower is perhaps the most emblematic monument of Cambrils. Built in the 17th century to protect the port area from attacks by pirates from Algeria and Turkey, it became private property in 1894 and was finally acquired by the municipality in 1993. Renovated in 1995, it has kept its original round shape and the second floor with vaulted ceiling. The second floor was built by the previous owner in 1945. It is now part of the collection of the city's history museum.
