The oldest sacred building in the city, the hermitage of Mas d'en Bosch in Cambrils
This hermitage is the oldest sacred building in the city. In the 15th century, after the destruction of the castle of Barenys i de Vilafortuny and the adjoining church, the archbishop of the region ordered the construction of a new temple from the elements of the ruin. This is how the Mas d'en Bosch was built in the 17th century: the date "1799" appears under the arch of the door. The hermitage has a single nave ending in a reinforced semicircular apse.
