Read moreThe community of Tengenenge exhibits its work in an open-air art gallery. The gallery displays over 1,000 sculptures by more than 100 artists and sales are at much lower prices than in the rest of the country. Most of these artists live in Tengenenge themselves, each with their own booth where they display their work and a workshop where they make it. A museum has been built to house Tengenenge's earliest sculptures and to pay tribute to the sculptors of previous generations, as well as to display contemporary sculptures.
