MUTARE MUSEUM

The Mutare Museum is one of four national museums in the country. Despite the financial problems faced by the administration, it is well kept. The permanent collections are interesting and varied. The vehicle exhibit contains old cars and locomotives and the oldest tractor in Zimbabwe. Another exhibit contains old guns, pistols and swords. Other exhibits focus on Manicaland Province and explore its ethnological history dating back to the Stone Age, and its natural history.
