Nestled in the hollow of the Rouvre Valley, the basilica’s location and magnificence come as a surprise. A sanctuary from the 8th century onwards, and a major pilgrimage site from the 16th century onwards, the ancient church welcomed Henri IV, who came here to pray. The current building was erected in 1903. Passing through its wide forecourt, you discover a door carved in local wood, then a second door with stained glass windows, as sublime as the rosettes, the stained glass windows and the damask floor.
