MAHOGANY HAMMOCK TRAIL
0.5 mile handicap accessible trail with a relatively cool and moist grove
If you like mahogany, you're in for a treat. The 0.5-mile (800m) trail leads into a grove of these trees, where you can admire the largest specimen of Mahogany tree in North America. Around the grove, you'll see a few palms, fig trees and orchids. The grove is relatively cool and damp. As for the wildlife, nocturnal hunts bring the area to life at night, while owls, wildcats and raccoons fall asleep in their habitat during the day. The trail is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
