Domaine Émile Beyer in Eguisheim: organic wines, award-winning cuvées, Riesling Grand Cru Pfersigberg and Pinot Gris Hohrain acclaimed by RVF

From a line of winegrowers rooted in Eguisheim since 1850, Christian Beyer continues the family tradition of excellence with panache. Trained at the prestigious Schloss Johannisberg estate in the Rheingau, he now orchestrates the 17-hectare Domaine Émile Beyer, which has been Ecocert-certified organic since 2014. His elegant, expressive cuvées are appreciated far beyond France's borders. The Revue du Vin de France awarded a double coup de cœur to the Riesling Grand Cru Pfersigberg and the Pinot Gris Hohrain. Two nuggets not to be missed!

The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of the winery's history and the wine making process. After a 30min tour we got a taste from many different types of wine; sparkling, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer. Everything was clearly explained to us. We highly recommend to pay them a visit.

We had a truly amazing experience. The tasting was 10€ per person, but worth every penny, we got to try almost every variety of their wines, which we found very good and thinking of ordering. Special thanks to the lady who provided this tour for us, she was fluent in French, English and German and was rushing around taking care of 3 different groups, without skipping a bit, very nice and welcoming.

We had a wine tasting with a knowledgelable guide. 29 euros. We were just put in tall bar chairs, orange ones, you can see in some pic, not comfortable for a wine tasting. We thought we would see some wine caves, but it was only wine tasting and good explanation of region and wines. Our favourite wines, this is a personal taste were the riesling for 12.8 eur per bottle. The grand crus to our taste quite dry-sec. Our guide was jumping from us to another couple for explanations what felt a bit on a rush. As a wine tasting I would not personally recommend as felt rushed and uncomfortable and felt more like drinking wine in a bar. Giving the points to the guide that was knowledgeable.
