Domaine Bruno Hertz: HVE wines, 16th-century cellar, tasting, and 2CV or Mehari tour of the vineyards with picnic.
This superb HVE-certified estate has been run from father to son for over 250 years. Hertz wines are made from grapes grown exclusively on the estate. Certain cuvées (fabulous Pinot Gris Grand Cru Rangen) are aged in the historic cellars of the Hospices de Strasbourg. Bruno will show you around his beautiful 16th-century cellar, before you taste fine nectars such as this Sylvaner Hospices de Strasbourg 2020, awarded one star in the Guide Hachette. Guided tours of the vineyards in a 2CV or Mehari, with picnic lunches or lunch in a local restaurant.

Independent winemaker. HVE (High Environmental Value) certification. Member of the Cave Historique des Hospices de Strasbourg. Open Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm; Wednesdays to Sundays from 4pm to 7pm. Introduction to wine-tasting and wine-tasting evenings. Operation "vin nouveau" (new wine) at the end of September. Privatization of the cellar possible for events (weddings, family celebrations, etc.). Cellar visit + tasting by appointment for groups (+10 people): by reservation. Order online. Visit the vineyard on foot, in a 2CV or an electric Mehari convertible: information on request. Gîte (2-6 pers): rates on request.

Mr. Bruno was very welcoming and kind – after the tasting, he gave us a tour of his wine cellar, where his wines mature in 100-year-old oak barrels.
It was not only a wine tasting, but a cultural moment we won’t forget. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Alsace wine experience.
