A thousand-year-old church in L'Aigle with stained glass windows by Barillet and Ingrand complementing modern stained glass, a Gothic tower, Renaissance nave and modern sculptures.
This thousand-year-old church is unique for its variety of architectural styles. The clock tower and apse are built of grison (red stone from the Ouche region). The Rosary chapel and Gothic tower were built in the 15th century, followed by the nave with its Renaissance vault in the 16th century. The exterior niches house sculptures, including one by Paul Belmondo. Modern stained-glass windows by the Barillet workshop (including L'hymne à la musique) and Max Ingrand (including the Sermon sur la montagne) complement the two 15th-century windows, forming an admirable whole.
