TOWN HALL

The Stadhuis is located south of the market place at the number. It burned down in 1463. Originally a late gothic building, it was renovated in 1671 in baroque style with a classical façade. Its architect, Jan Derkennis, was also involved in the construction of the cathedral. Its tower, built in 1650, has a carillon that rings every Wednesday between 10 and 11 am. At the entrance, you can admire the Art Nouveau murals from the late 19th century by the artist Antoon Derkinderen.
