DRENTS MUSEUM

35 km northwest of Emmen, in the town of Assen, this museum informs visitors about the famous megalithic tombs of the region and also exhibits to the public objects from the Roman period found during excavations, as well as Frankish weapons, ceramics and jewelry. It is housed in a former cloister "Maria in Campis" and was renovated and expanded about ten years ago. An underground area was created as well as a garden and the stables were also converted for the museum. A pleasant museum by the way.
