This meteorite crater in Kaali is the rarest wonder in the country, known since ancient times.
We go to Kaali for its meteorite crater, the rarest wonder in the whole country known since ancient times, even though it was thought at the time to be the tomb of Apollo. 18 km north of Kuressaare is Lake Kaali. There have always been many legends about the origins of this lake, until the geologist Reinwald proved in 1927 that its 16m deep crater was formed 2,400-2,800 years ago by a falling meteorite. It seems to be the youngest in Europe. Interesting museum.
