Terrace lighthouse built by the engineer Achille Rossi in Santa Maria Di Leuca

Not far from the Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae Sanctuary stands the impressive 47-metre high lighthouse, built by the engineer Achille Rossi in 1864 on the site of an old watchtower from the 16th century. Today, as in the past, it forms an unmistakable landmark for sailors navigating the waters of the Mediterranean and approaching the coasts of Salento. A spiral staircase with 254 steps allows you to reach its circular terrace and, on a clear day, to enjoy a unique panorama as far as the Greek coast.
