Carrousel 1900, presenting hand-painted frescoes, reproductions of 1900 posters and paintings describing the life of Colmar
In the heart of the Champ de Mars, discover this 1900 carousel, the largest of its kind in France. It pays homage to Colmar, with paintings depicting the city's neighborhoods: Little Venice, Place Rapp and Maison Pfister. It also has a gallery to protect children in all weathers. Planes, cars, horses - each one has its own means of locomotion, and it's off to a great time. Les Délices du carrousel, the kiosk next to the carousel, offers drinks and sweet treats for young and old alike.

We stopped by and really enjoyed watching the carrousel make its turns with happy children and families enjoying slow, music filled rides. The carrousel is beautifully adorned with turn of the century Art Nouveau decor and really neat to see as part of visits to Colmar.
