This beautiful monument imposing in the center of Colmar is worth a look. It is the former hospital which was originally a Franciscan convent. After their departure, the neo-classical building was sold in 1543 to the city of Colmar, which transformed it into a hospital. Destroyed by lightning in 1735, it was rebuilt between 1736 and 1744 with stones that came from the fortifications of the city, under the aegis of the architect Lorrain Luppe Danclo. The civilian hospital occupied the scene until 1937, when the Pasteur hospital was built west of the city. First occupied by part of the IUT from Colmar until 2005, the building was restored and refurbished in 2012 to host the Media-Culture Edmond Gerrer (PMC) Pole. In the form of U, you can turn around by taking Rue des Chasse. The main and lateral facades were entered in the inventory of Historic Monuments. By the way, enjoy the beautiful park of the place of 2-February, ultra modernized with metal arches. It is a superb place combining modern and old. Why not take a picnic break?
