A monument of Gothic style with a remarkable nave of simplicity and harmony, accessible to all and on the same level.
In 1292, the Franciscans established in Colmar began construction of the Temple Saint-Matthieu, which was finally completed in the first half of the 14th century. Along with the Dominican church, this monument is one of the major achievements of the mendicant orders in the region. Restored in several stages between 1982 and 1997, this monument displays all the characteristics of the Gothic style. Its nave is remarkable for its simplicity and harmony, and its admirable 1640 stained-glass window is the oldest in the city. And don't miss the Silbermann organ.
