This Gothic church is one of the finest examples of the mendicant order

This Gothic-style church was built between 1283 and 1346. Initially associated with the Dominican convent, it long housed Colmar's municipal library. The building was intended to convey a sense of grandeur. The Dominican church is a kind of large vessel with a wooden ceiling illuminated by 14th-century stained glass windows. It is one of the most beautiful creations of the mendicant order. The centerpiece of the visit is, without doubt, Martin Schongauer's famous painting: The Virgin with the Rose Bush (1473).

Die Église des Dominicains in Colmar stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und ist ein Beispiel gotischer Bettelordensarchitektur. Bekannt ist sie vor allem für das Gemälde „Madonna im Rosenhag“ von Martin Schongauer.

Der Eintritt ist günstig das Innere insgesamt recht unspektakulär.
