Winstub with terrace in an authentic setting in Colmar offering Alsatian specialties.

If winstubs are flourishing in Colmar, Le Flory stands out from the crowd thanks to its authentic setting enhanced by fine woodwork and "jovial" frescoes! Alsatian specialities are served in generous portions: pork cheek with pinot noir accompanied by spaetzle, sauerkraut, homemade duck foie gras, and, for sweet beaks, iced vacherin on raspberry coulis. Not very dietetic, but oh so tasty! On sunny days, you can sit on the shaded terrace. But beware, it is better to reserve because it is quickly taken by storm!

Being colmar, we wanted to discover with our vendée friends the Alsace cuisine. We took your advice and naps allee in this restaurant. What a DISAPPOINTMENT! The inedible, sour sauerkraut and sauciisse them had a taste of box, yellow-brown tarte flambée yourself saying was white and cream had cow's, any filling the chicken vol-au-vent: a chicken escalope is crossed by small pieces with cream and mushrooms no hen trace, veal dumplings that usually see. For dessert we took direct profiteroles left congèl and impossible to eat so they hard were completed by just 2 chocolate Cl for three enormous cabbage!
In short, this restaurant is Alsatian shame and I do not understand that it is in your guide!!!!
My experience is in total contradiction with the other 2 opinions, judge: I had reserved a table for 4 people the Monday 11/1/2010. On the agenda: in entrances: foie gras - snails. In dish: fleischnakas - chickens vol-au-vent. Which disappointment, the + 20 years that we go to Alsace, never we had not so mall eaten. We did not finish our dishes so they were poor and mall prepared, duck foie gras was just acceptable but for €16, expect much better and also a slice a little more substantial (one - half inch, I measured!). For the rest, the sauce cream with Riesling of the bites = of tasteless and too peppered water, the dry and bad chicken. Fleischnakas: harsh, rubbery and bland served without salad but with a potato mountain (mall) yellow-brown.
I marked the waitress, who did not do commentary, if not bring from €116 bill me.
Don't I include eulogistic opinions and time with what we lived? Which difference with other visited establishments and with our own cuisine. Of course, this November 1st, there was no chef present or quality produce in Flory. My consolation, it is to be avoided the same mishap with a group of 8 Swiss which was on the back when they asked to us whether they were good! They went their way.
Fortunately, I know the good Alsatian culinary tradition, Flory is shame with its region and its profession.
