This monument is dedicated to the artist couple Ion (born in 1954) and Doina Aldea Teodorovici (born in 1958), composers and performers known for their popular and patriotic songs. They lost their lives together in a road accident on October 30, 1992 at Coșereni in Romania. Every year, in November, at Chişinău the international festival Două inimi gemene ("Two Twin Hearts") is held, commemorating this highly respected artist couple in Moldova.
