Museum in Weil am Rhein evoking the history of design linked to architecture, art and culture through collections of furniture.
Open since 1989 in buildings as design-oriented as the furniture itself, the museum was the brainchild of Vitra company owner Rolf Fehlbaum, who wanted to build up a collection that he could then present to the public. The museum explores the history of design, linking it to architecture, art and culture. The Vitra Design Museum boasts one of the largest collections of designer furniture in the world! All periods and styles from the early 19th century to the present day are represented. In addition to the permanent collection, temporary exhibitions attract tens of thousands of visitors every year.

nous attendions cette visite avec impatience car nous sommes ferrus d'architecture et de design.Nous avons été ravis car les bâtiments sont extraordinaires et les expositions magnifiques.La boutique nous a permis d'acheter de très beaux souvenirs.
a bit disappointing... if the architecture of the buildings is interesting, remains on our hunger by seeing the content... much chairs, beds, but nothing very packaging. To book to people really fan design chairs...
