cathedral with two bell towers and rare works of art on a hilltop between the houses of the old town.
In the southwestern part of the Kaiserstuhl, an extraordinary jewel already impresses visitors from afar: St. Stephan's Cathedral! Located on the top of a hill, Breisach's landmark dominates the houses of the old town and the Rhine plain. Its two bell towers direct visitors to an interesting building housing rare works. The church dates back to the late Romanesque period in the 12th century and was enlarged to the Gothic period in the 15th century.
