VAT SIMUNGKHUM

This beautiful and large temple built on a platform includes a worship room (sim) decorated with interesting murals. It houses a beautiful reclining Buddha. The complex includes a stupa as well as the brick ruins of a 14th century temple next to the Vat Sibounheuang. The walk to get there is quick and nice. It is the main centre of Buddhist life in the region. Don't hesitate to go there in the morning, after the monks' quest, if you wish to attend the ceremonies and take part in the prayers of the faithful.
