The Nut, 152 m high, is an impressive volcanic rock formed some 12.5 million years ago. Visible from afar as you head towards the village, it dominates Stanley and is the town's main attraction. A steep path leads to the summit (20-minute walk) and the plateau, from where the views are magnificent. For the less adventurous, a chairlift provides easy access and return. The 2 km discovery trail allows you to stop and walk around the plateau in around 40 minutes. Stanley Seafood not far from the trail for fish and chips.
