A winery to visit on the banks of the Douro, producing wines that are distributed worldwide.
You can't miss the black figure with a cape and hat worthy of Zorro, who stands out above the historic building of these wineries built by the architect Joaquim da Costa Lima Sampaio in 1790, and called the Royal Palace at that time. In the same year, George Sandeman, an ambitious Scotsman, opened a wine cellar in London, then in Cadiz in Spain, and finally in Porto in 1811. These wines were distributed all over the world from the beginning of the 19th century. Here is another mythical cellar to visit on the banks of the Douro, with, of course, a tasting at the end!

une très bonne visite : guide sympathique et intéressante, qui maîtrise son sujet et en français. Bâtiment bien situé, et les caves sont très belles. Visite dans les mêmes tarifs que les autres caves.

Une des meilleurs visites de caves de Porto sur la ville de Nova De Gaia. La visite est commentée en plusieurs langues suivant les horaires et finit par une dégustation de 2 Porto ( blanc sec et Tawny ). On y découvre l'histoire de la marque ainsi que le Chai et la méthode d'obtention de ce précieux Porto.
Personnel très accueillant et qui prend le temps de répondre à chaque question.

Un personnel vous accueillant en costume de Sandeman, une cave sombre, des cuves de plusieurs milliers de litres ... Une atmosphère vraiment sympa pour découvrir l'histoire du Porto ! Pour 6€, visite guidée de la cave (en français) et dégustation d'un Porto blanc et un rouge. Si vous avez un plus gros budget, vous pouvez faire une visite guidée de plus haute gamme en ayant droit à une dégustation de Porto plus ancien.
