Ideal Clube de Fado in Porto, offering an introduction to Portuguese singing and poems sung in the traditional Fado style.

In an intimate room you will (re) discover the fado. Far from the fado houses that offer shows with dinner, you will listen to professional artists singing the traditional version of this song. Ideal Clube de Fado proposes to discover, during one hour, this typical Portuguese song. As a preamble, you will be given a 15-minute presentation of its particularities. You will learn how traditional Fado differs from other styles of Fado; sung poems that adapt to the musical melody. A beautiful moment!

We listened to fado with a glass of port, the place is very pleasant and so are the staff. A very pleasant experience. My only regret is not understanding the lyrics.

Authentic intimate small venue. Great atmosphere, good singers. Would be nice if there was a short introduction in english about origin of fado music and what the songs are about. Now it was all in Portugese and it felt a bit detached
