Location is awesome but :
-Part of the the staff doesn't speak English at all, how's that possible?
-TV doesn't work, after calling reception they came and their answer was sorry it's broken,nothing we can do about it.
-Extremely weak internet, worse than using phone data
-Thinest mattress I've ever had in a hotel.
-As other reviews mention the internal patio is extremely noisy with workers. so if you are a light sleeper good luck.

Hôtel bien situé, malheureusement les chambres du 4 qui donnent sous les toits sous vraiment très brillante entre la pluie qui résonne sur la toiture et en prime le crie des mouettes, qui niche en face.

it is disappointing that after hours waiting in lobby for our room to be cleaned and it's still not done. if your cleaning stuff don't plan to start cleaning soon, why do you knock the door so early?! You don't have to chase everybody out in the morning if you only want to clean at 4 pm in the afternoon!
Besides, the lady in charge talks to customer with a condescending altitude, who give you right to do so?
Be aware that the location seems good, close to river, but seagulls will shout all night long. The windows are not soundproof at all.

Personnelle agréable et sympathique…
En revanche la chambre et petite, sombre, mal isolée ( on pouvait entendre les chambre voisine et le bruits externes)
Le room service ménage ne fait pas la poussière dans les chambres …
Il y également une forte odeur des égouts au niveau de la salle de bain.
Le petit déjeuner est type cantine plus les jours passer moins il y avait de choix.

Hôtel très bien situé dans le cœur le plus animé de Porto.
Personnel agréable et souriant.
En revanche les chambres très mal isolées , sombre et service de nettoyage minable ( les tasses et verres n’ont pas été changé durant tout le séjours , ni la poussière…)
Dans la salle de bain , nous pouvons ressentir parfois des odeurs de remonté d’égouts.
Petit déjeuner façon cantine avec vraiment le stricte minimum ( plus les jours passaient et moins y’avait de choix…)

Fantastic location, right in the heart of Ribeira, but in a quiet side street. Lovely breakfast served up each day with a smile. Staff so friendly and helpful.
Christiano was wonderful and so helpful in changing our room, as unfortunately we did experience some very noisy guests on the first night, so he was able to help us move into another room on another floor. We were so appreciative as to how he handled it for us, so thankyou.
Lovely comfy clean beds, with great showers and toiletries. Great decor throughout which we found to be very calming and Earthy.
I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it. Fab restaurants, shops and bars and definitely the best side of Porto to make as your base, as it is full of so many Cultural delights.
We really enjoyed the food and architecture whilst out and about and walked for miles each day. We really did have the best time.

Estive no Descobertas Boutique Hotel em novembro de 2019. O hotel é lindo e muito bem localizado. Apartamentos modernos e confortáveis. Muito silencioso. Banheiro excelente. O Café da manhã deixou saudades, realmente maravilhoso. Os funcionários são atenciosos. O único inconveniente é a falta de estacionamento próprio. No entanto há um grande estacionamento subterrâneo próximo ao local. Uber não pode ir até a porta do hotel, mas táxi pode. O hotel fica na Ribeira do Porto, colado no rio Douro, Pertinho da Ponte D. Luís. Realmente recomendo. Gostei muito.

Hotel lindo e encantador, mais deixa alguns pontos a desejar para excelencia! Quanto aos quartos, cama nada satisfatória, serviço de limpeza e organizacao a desejar ! Ótima recepção e café de bom agrado!

Everything was good and confortable, very nice people all the staff, very clean, the only downside was the mattress, not good , and it was not a real king bed, it was two twins together with a big bomp in the meddle and old mattress.
Great location, in price , but with the better mattress.

Perfect location for a few days, a stones throw from the Douro river and Ponte Luis bridge.
Rooms clean and comfortable with decent shower.
The only downside was breakfast which was lacking in some areas

The location is nice, right on the water. However, for the price and other ratings, it’s really off. The hotel is so-so. Staff is nice but not overly helpful. One of the front desk people stayed on the phone for 5 minutes vs helping me in person.
The rooms and lobby are clean but nothing amazing. The aircon never worked and the room smelled musty. Some of the fixtures were broken too. However the water has great pressure in the shower. Breakfast is ok, but I won’t count on it as a full meal - you could go to a cafe and get a better meal for under 5 Euros.

Good hotel, but wouldn’t say it’s up to 4 star standard. WiFi is slow takes about 10min to load up a page, and signal is very weak, so no internet in the room.
Couldn’t control the aircon, you could turn it off and have no air or very cold.
Breakfast mainly consisted of cold dishes.
Pillows were absolutely not comfortable.
Lots of small things like broken table, shower head, sink were a little annoying to deal with.

We had a pleasant stay regardless, just expectations were a bit higher for the price and 4-stars.

Very nice hotel, great breakfast included. Stay was completely ruined at the end when their credit card machines were not working at 5am when we had to leave for our flight, so they made us pay in cash. Completely through off our financial planning for the trip. As a young couple who has been saving for this and planning what will be done in cash and what will be done on card it was awful to experience at 5am before a flight. Concierge had the nerve to tell us we should’ve paid the night before- why not tell us that the night before?!?!

Ótimo hotel, localização adequada próxima e não tão próxima ao centro do Porto.
Quarto ótimo muito espaço , cama excelente, banheiro muito bom !

Es un hotel pequeño y con encanto, el gran problema que tiene es que la mayoría de las habitaciones dan a un patio interior donde además de ser un patio de vecinos, está la cocina de un restaurante y el ruido es insoportable.
Se escucha a la gente hablar como si estuvieran dentro de la habitación. Por la noche de 00.00h a 02.00h cuando cierran el restaurante, solo se escuchan golpes de platos, cubiertos, cacerolas... Cada vez que tienen que tirar basura y mueven los cubos es como si los tuvieras dentro de la habitación. Por la mañana a las 7 a.m ya se empieza a escuchar todo tipo de ruidos del restaurante, carros con vajillas moviendose, gritos de los trabajadores etc. Pero a la hora del medio día, más de lo mismo, incluso peor porque están trabajando al 100%. Desde la habitacion se escucha todo, como apilan los vasos unos encima de otros, como dan con la paleta en los recipientes...
Las ventanas están totalmente cerradas y es como si estuvieran de par en par abiertas, parece que no tienen cristal, (en varias ocasiones hemos corrido la cortina para comprobar que las ventanas estaban cerradas, nos parecía imposible poder escuchar a la perfección la conversación que estaban teniendo abajo los trabajadores). No se puede dormir por la noche, no se puede dormir por la mañana pero tampoco a la hora de la siesta. Es una pena, porque la situación del hotel es buena, el desayuno es pequeño pero tiene todo lo necesario...
No es un hotel que digas "vale para dormir y punto" porque el gran problema es que, una vez entras dentro de la habiatcion no se puede estar...
-Ahora mismo están con el móvil dos de los trabajadores, y lo que están viendo en el móvil lo estamos escuchando en la habiatcion (un tercero) como si lo tuviéramos aquí dentro-

Mixed experience . Location is great although the taxi doesn’t drop you outside so you have to walk up and down a hill.

Room was a good size although a lot things didn’t work; we had huge wifi issues, remote control for the shutters weren’t working, tv didn’t work, lock for the front door didn’t work, phone in the room didn’t work. We also didn’t get our daily water bottle and when we went down to ask we were interrogated about whether we had missed the water bottle in our room. We only stayed for two nights so we just bought from the local supermarket

The breakfast was very small; I’m gluten free and whilst they did prepare some gluten free food, the other options like fruit and eggs (smelt like they had gone off) were very limited. I ended up just eating bread for breakfast.

I’d say for a 4 star I’m disappointed at the service and what there was to offer. That being said if you are here for a day or so location is perfect
