With over 115,000 inhabitants, Manchester is New Hampshire's most populous city. It's a former industrial city, which in the 19th century was home to numerous textile mills. Although there are a few good restaurants and bars on Elm Street, its main thoroughfare, there's little reason to linger in the city other than to visit the Currier Museum of Art, which houses a large collection of paintings, and the Zimmerman House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The other reason to pass through here would be to arrive by plane, so you can quickly head for places like Portsmouth or the White Mountains!
