House acquired by the U.S. National Park that offers free tours led by Maritime National Park rangers.
This house was built by Elias Hasket Derby, a wealthy naval captain, in 1762. He gave it to his wife as a wedding present and they lived here for twenty years with their seven children. This beautiful brick house was later sold to another naval captain, before finally being acquired by the American National Park. Free guided tours are provided by the Maritime National Park Rangers. For schedules and reservations, inquire at the Visitor Center at 2 New Liberty Street.

The best at Salem and around
