A must-see place on Route 66 in Newberry Springs that has become mythical since the worldwide success of the film Bagdad Café in 1986

Previously called Sidewinder Café, the place became mythical after the worldwide success of the movie Bagdad Café in 1986. Part of the set was destroyed, including the hotel that many tourists liked to visit; only Jack Palance's Airstream trailer, parked behind the building, was preserved. Inside, souvenirs are spread out on the walls: photos of the shooting, business cards, postcards... It is almost possible to read all the inscriptions since they appear in French ....! The place, unfortunately, is irreparably decaying.

Une halte au Bagdad Cafe à Newberry Springs
Un arrêt mythique du fait du célèbre film. L’endroit semble perdu au milieu du désert et le Bagdad Café, à la décoration très particulière, représente un dépaysement à part entière. Il est très pittoresque et mérite la visite. J'ai bien apprécié !

Lieu mythique, endroit magique que l'on ne peut pas oublier, une curiosité, billets accrochés sur tous les murs et plafonds venant de tous les pays !!! Le monde entier y est passé.
Salle de bar à l'origine du film avec le piano et banquettes.
Cela restera un bon souvenir d'une partie de la route 66

Attention de ne pas le louper? Ne pas aller jusqu’à Bagdad c'est bien avant sur la 66, il se trouve tres trs de Newberry Springs

Le Bagdad Café se situe à Newberry Springs, en plein désert de Mojave. On s'arrête ici parce qu'on est sur la 66 et parce que c'est ici que l’équipe de tournage du film Bagdad Café s’est installée.
Beaucoup de français passent ici. La caravane du peintre Rudi Coxx (Jack Palance) est toujours derrière, sur le parking.
