Giant dressed as a spaceman waiting on Route 66 in Wilmington.
This giant in a spacesuit is the first one to be seen on Route 66. One of countless models of the same mold mass-produced in California during the 1960s to draw the eye in front of stores, it was placed in front of the Dari-Delite (now Launching Pad) in the same decade. America being at that time in the midst of a space discovery, the children of a school in Wilmington gave it the name of the Gemini program of the time. It did not take less for the giant to dress up as a spaceman.
