At the entrance to Wilmington, you can't miss the Gemini Giant, a giant 8 m tall cosmonaut holding a rocket in his hands. He is one of the copies of the famous Muffler Man of Fagstaff and signals the Launching Pad Drive Inn Restaurant. This fiberglass statue dates from 1965, in the middle of the space age. Here is a mythical diner that resurfaces from the past. Wilmington is also home to the oldest hotel on Route 66: the Eagle Hotel, built in 1836. Those who want to see its remains will stop in front of its decrepit white facade at the red light, at the corner of Walter Street and Route 66.
