The city of Wilmington is located in Illinois. It has a city government that manages the city's public services. City council members are elected to four-year terms, as is the mayor. The City Council is the city's legislative body, passing ordinances and resolutions that become city laws. All council meetings are open to the public, and all citizens are invited to attend. The current mayor is Ben Dietz, whose term expires in 2025. Other council members are Kevin Kirwin, Ryan Jeffries, Dennis Vice, Ryan Knight, Leslie Allred, Jonathan Mietzner, Todd Holmes and Thomas Smith. The city also has various departments, such as police, public works and financial services.
