INDIA ARMY MONUMENT
Monument to the soldiers who died in the First World War, located on the extreme point at the entrance to the canal.
Located on the far point at the entrance to the canal, this monument to the soldiers who died in the First World War was unveiled in 1926 by the Imperial War Graves Commission. It was built by Scottish architects John James Burnet & Thomas S. Tait and featured sculptures by British artist Charles Sargeant Jagger. Once much taller, only the base remains today, the events of 1967 having led to its demolition.
