SAINT GERMAIN CHURCH
Church featuring hybrid architecture and housing the listed portrait of Marguerite de Lorraine.
The building's construction spanned four centuries, from the 14th to the 17th century, and three styles succeeded one another: Gothic, Renaissance and Classical. The lantern tower with its star vault (16th-17th centuries), the Gothic nave (14th-15th centuries), its ceiling with rosettes and hanging keys, and the Renaissance choir are the jewels of this church, subtly illuminated by Léon Zack's stained glass windows (20th century). The church also houses the listed portrait and heart of Marguerite de Lorraine, who died in 1521 in Argentan (Duchy of Alençon), and a painting by Ernest Hillemacher (salon of 1776).
