The Slave Trail is covered with ancient stones, polished by time, which facilitated the flow of gold and precious minerals extracted from the region to their export ports. The trail leads to two waterfalls: Mãe d'Agua and Veu da Noiva. It is part of a much broader project involving more than ten communes in the region which, in addition to their geographical proximity, share a common history and characteristics.
