A superb cave, 998 m long and 40 m deep, with stalactites and stalagmites galore.
Located one hour from Belo Horizonte, the Rei do Mato cave is without doubt the most spectacular of all the caves in the region. This superb cave of 998 m of extension (220 m are open to the public) goes down to 40 m of depth. There are stalactites and stalagmites galore, as well as crystal-clear stone cascades. The main attraction is the two superb stalactites, 13 m high, intact and rare (there is only one other in Spain), which took about 20,000 years to form.
