He is the choir of the conservatory of music of the city for young boys. To integrate the choir, you must be a student of the conservatory, study the theory and learn one or more instruments. Before a singer belonged to the main choir (at the age of 9-10), he was part of the initiation choir, where he learned the bases of choral work. Entry to the initiation choir can be done at the age of 4.

With the support of the Ministry of Culture, Higher Education and Research and the City of Luxembourg, in connection with the federations of choirs, the Institute has a coordinating role between professional and amateur practice in order to develop the practice of choral singing in Luxembourg. The Maîtrise Sainte-Cécile de la Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Luxembourg is a renowned choir located in the city of Luxembourg. Founded in 1844, it currently has 50 permanent members and celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2019/2020. The Maîtrise's main mission is to provide musical accompaniment at major masses in the cathedral during important religious and national events.
