Andra - Centre de stockage de la Manche, France’s first industrial centre for radioactive waste, is well worth a visit.

A unique visit: Andra (Agence nationale pour la gestion des déchets radioactifs) invites you to visit its radioactive waste storage site in the hills above La Hague, at an altitude of almost 180 meters. The site looks after more than a million waste packages and is the first centre in the world to have entered the closure phase: rigorous surveillance, regular checks, research, development and the transmission of memory are the main activities.
