This manor testifies to the presence, before the Revolution, of a small nobility exploiting the surrounding land.
La Manche is one of the 10 French départements with over 100 castles and manor houses listed as historic monuments. A fortified house was built in the 16th century, after the 100-year war, to control or defend road users. The whole complex can be visited in fine weather: the dovecote and the beautiful courtyards are little marvels. Admission is free, but the recommended price is €5 per person. Gîtes are also available.
