House of the famous poet Jacques Prévert, located in the village of Omonville-la-Petite.
Enter the village of Omonville-la-Petite and park your car in the parking lot opposite the church. You haven't yet reached the home of the famous poet Jacques Prévert, but the tour starts here. Take a look at the cemetery and its flower-filled, pebbled graves. This is the quiet resting place of Jacques Prévert, his wife and daughter. Follow the street through the fields. A ten-minute walk will take you to the writer's corner of paradise. It was when he was filming with the actors of the Octobre company that he fell under the spell of Cap de la Hague. The man we know today as the author of some of the best lines in French cinema, but also a committed poet and master of the art of collage, rediscovered his love affair in the 1970s. He acquired a discreet house with a garden in Le Val. Les Paroles still resonates there... On the first floor, contemplate the temporary exhibition in tribute to the author and the great artists with whom he collaborated, then watch the film of his life. Upstairs, take a tour of the chapters in Jacques Prévert's life, from his studio to his bedrooms, and finish your visit with a visit to the garden... Collages, works, drafts... everything takes you back to Prévert's world, and this since 1995, via this beautiful house. On April 11, 1977, the poet died here: he lived in this superb house in La Hague for 7 years, and his grave is nearby. A wonderful visit, whether you're familiar with Prévert or not.
