Port-Diélette has become a country port, with all the amenities of a large town.
A port in the countryside, with all the amenities of a large one, this is what Port-Diélette has gradually become. Originally, a vast dike, which still exists, and which dated from the 19th century. With its sandy beach, it was a delight for bathers. From the middle of the 1990s, the place has been deeply transformed: a marina, accessible at high tide, has been created on the east side of the dyke, with a basin in the fore-port where boats, and in particular those carrying passengers to the Channel Islands, dock.
