This small space, whose walls are covered with paintings and frescoes, gives the impression of entering the home of friends with obvious artistic talents! Inside, the charm is palpable: the staff are very welcoming and pleasant, as is the atmosphere of the place. Rodrigo's service is just right, warm and smiling. The reineta with mushroom risotto is a delight, as is the chicken supreme with sautéed vegetables. An excellent address to discover that remains, even with the passing years, one of our favorites.

A good seafood restaurant where you can enjoy ceviche, grilled octopus, shrimp gnocchi and other local specialties to the rhythm of the music of visiting artists. The view is spectacular, to say the least, and makes for a particularly pleasant setting from the top of this pretty terrace. The daily menu offers a vast and delightful choice. At first glance, the place seems rather ordinary, but once you step inside, you find yourself in one of the city's finest restaurants! You'll find traditional Chilean dishes inspired by Italian cuisine: try the centolla ravioli, ostiones a la parmesana or ceviche de locos. Original and refined, the dishes, served under cloche, are excellent value for money, and the service is fast. Don't forget to enjoy the view over Valparaiso Bay by asking for a seat on the terrace. We especially appreciate its large sunny terrace with a panoramic view of Valparaíso. Salads, sandwiches and delicious tablas (try the Playa Ancha with seafood) are served. The dishes are varied, although not very copious, but there is something for everyone. Our advice? Pair the fish of the day with the seaweed risotto. The sandwiches will satisfy your appetite at lunchtime, while the evening dishes invite you to enjoy the setting and to savour the porteña music of the local bands that sometimes come to perform.

And the cuisine, typically Chilean and well prepared: huge empanadas, pastel de choclo, chorrillana (one of the best in Valpo, in the evening only), vegetarian lasagna, ceviche... We come back with pleasure, both at lunchtime and in the evening to have a drink with friends. All served with care and simplicity! Created by the owners of Fauna, this former boarding school is a restaurant, bar and cultural centre all in one. The burgers, a speciality of the house, are particularly tasty and the lunch menu is good value for money. You can enjoy your food either inside or on the balcony outside. The service is particularly friendly and attentive. A special address where you come more for the experimental setting and the breathtaking view of the cerros. Good atmosphere on weekends for a dinner with friends.

At the bottom of a dead end, a real little discovery. Crucifixes and missiles cohabit in a jumble of knick-knacks, each one as incongruous as the next. The tables and walls are the guestbook of the house, where each visitor leaves a small trace of his passage. It is here that the famous chorrillana (pieces of beef, fried onions, sausages, eggs and chips) would have been invented... Alas, if the place is worth a look, the quality of the food is not up to the standard, but it's still good enough to try the Chilean gastronomy!

A classic decoration for one of the best cafés in the city. Very typical, it is identifiable by its beautiful colored facade. Here, it is not a high place of the Chilean gastronomy, however the menu remains not very expensive the midday and the dishes proposed are of quality. The menus include drinks and there are vegetarian options. All this is always accompanied by friendly and smiling service. The terrace on the square is very popular in summer, a little set back from the street. In short, simplicity is the order of the day and the warmth is real.

An iodized address on the lively Cerro Alegre! Here, Jorge offers a classic cuisine with a real flavour. Classic? Yes, but creative and above all based on fresh products! The menu offers tuna tartar with Dijon mustard, oysters au gratin in the oven or even seafood lasagne (shrimps, oysters and squid with béchamel sauce... yum!). Vegetarians and vegans will also find something to their liking. The plates are nicely prepared and the restaurant has a nice terrace on the first floor. The bill? Not that expensive.

The Tres Peces, as the name suggests, specializes in fish and seafood. In its charming, bright service room on the Cerro Concepción, decorated with elements evoking Valparaiso's fishing and seafaring heritage, you'll be delighted by the weekly menu. Empanadas and other filled doughnuts, fresh salads with iodine accents, grilled fish and/or seafood, raw fish tatakis with bold flavors and fruity notes - everything is good at "Les Trois Poissons"!

Very pleasant setting, in a family home that has been converted into a restaurant, with a lovely outdoor terrace. This is the story of a group of friends from Puerto Montt who decided to open a restaurant in Valpo. They renovated this old house and offer typical southern dishes, especially sea food. To recommend in season: the ceviche of locos and shrimps, the levanta muertos ("dead-raiser" or remedy against the "hangover"), a soup based on seafood, smoked pork, fish and vegetables, or the curanto for two (well for three, in fact). Casual atmosphere, hence the sometimes slow service. But the food is really good!

You'll have to climb a few streets up Cerro Bellavista to find this authentic little Neapolitan pizzeria occupying a corner of the neighborhood. Here, the chef takes the art of pizza-making very seriously, much to our delight. With its fine, crunchy dough and carefully selected ingredients, the pizzaiolo's job is to sing! An address that will delight those nostalgic for the transalpine galette. You can place your order and enjoy your margharita in the street right next door, admiring the view!

Just a stone's throw from Plaza Sotomayor, Capri is THE Chilean cantina par excellence! Step past the brightly-colored storefront, up the flight of stairs to the unique, large and always-full service room, and prepare to get your money's worth. Here, generous portions of authentic, traditional Chilean cuisine are served, mainly fish and seafood, but not only. Let the friendly waiters advise you and enjoy the atmosphere. A truly good, inexpensive and local address.

A typical Valparaíso restaurant, with a cosmopolitan fauna. You'll taste grandma's cooking, very local and tasty. The menu includes cazuelas - many say they are the best in Valparaíso! - fried merluzas or reinetas, bife a lo pobre, pastel de jaiba or machas a la parmesana. The portions are copious. However, if you don't have time and want to eat on the go, order empanadas: they are very good. Be patient, the service is sometimes a bit overworked.

The belvedere on which the old, decaying Circular building sits is an attraction in itself: from the small square dominated by a century-old tree, you can enjoy the view before turning your attention to the menu. On the terrace or in the service room that seems to float above the void, you'll have to choose between a goat's cheese salad, tuna tartare, steamed almejas or grilled octopus with chillies, to name just a few of the star dishes. Certainly the best address in the neighborhood in terms of value for money!

On the first floor of the main Cardonal market, near the terminal, in a colourful atmosphere so typical of the old port, this is a good address to soak up the local atmosphere. It offers mostly good and hearty fish and seafood ( machas a la parmesana are a must as an appetizer, then the chupe de camarones). The marina Paila (a traditional Chilean seafood soup) is particularly delicious. There are always local musicians who come to play the guitar and sing. A very picturesque address.
