Travel Guide Vatomandry

Vatomandry is a big town appreciated by the Tananarivians, because it has the closest beaches to the capital (we are here about 300 kilometers east of Antananarivo, to be covered in about 6 hours). A tarred road leads to it from a junction, a few kilometers before Brickaville. There is not much to do there for a foreigner passing through, but it is perhaps better to sleep here than in Mahanoro after a trip on the Pangalanes (from Mananjary for example), the offer being more important and the nightlife a little more numerous. The name of the village of Vatomandry comes from vato : "stone" and from mandry: "who sleeps".
