The main purpose of a visit to Andasibe is the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park (area of 12 500 hectares); This park is also made up of a special reserve, that of Analamazaotra, which is very famous since it is found the no less famous indri. The forest is composed mainly of ravenalas and eucalyptus.Altitude (1 000 metres on average, the park is staggered between 900 and 1 250 m) explains the presence in these places of a surprising and rare lémurien: . Large on average from 75 cm to 1 m (its tail is minuscule in comparison: at most 5 cm!), weighing from 7 to 10 kg and exhibiting black and white fur, it is the largest of all its congeners. We also admire many birds: parrots, falcons… With its abundance of majestic orchids, tree ferns, lichens, sacred procedurally, nature here is royal. It is clear that it rains a lot: average annual precipitation is in the order of 1 700 mm (humidity is higher than 90%). Don't play marioles when you arrive in shorts and sandals, you may regret it. The only more or less dry season extends from September to mid-November: the rest of the year is often rain, fog or crachins that will accompany you during your visit! From July to September, it is not hot either.
